MSPs live in a complex world; Handling IT for one small business is hard – multiply by 200 and you’re a mid-sized MSP with a 200 dimension puzzle. Thousands of end-users, even more devices, hundreds of networks to support. Then there’s the applications, versions, compatibilities, identities, clouds, vendors and cyber criminals.

Being an MSP is hard, but you’re not on your own. We thrive on the challenges of automation and we’re only happy when we’ve made a difference; whether that’s knowledge sharing, fixing a bug, helping win a deal, productising an application, or saving a day on billing.

Our Story

We Got Started Because We Want to

Help MSPs deliver the Cloud.

Back in 2004, The Cortex system was ahead of its time, providing self-service capabilities for Managed network and security services for several tier 1 Telco’s.

By 2008 Cortex had evolved to become a platform for delivering Microsoft based user-centric services. Think Office 365, but delivered from your local Telco or IT provider. Cortex automation technology led the competition and when Microsoft shelved their MPS system, Cortex became a globally recognised solution for Hosted Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business and Desktop as a Service.

Cortex was acquired by Citrix Systems in 2011, becoming CloudPortal Services Manager (CPSM) and helped many Citrix CSP partners to develop scalable Desktop as a Service offerings.

Fast forward to 2018, built on the best of CPSM and Cortex, Atria began. Atria helps MSPs deliver their services, whether shared hosting, private cloud, public cloud, on-premises or a blend of each.

The principles behind Atria remain the same today. We abstract complex IT systems into logical automated services and make it possible for admin tasks to be safely handled by untrained staff.

Today Atria is used across the world by many leading Managed Service Providers.

Colin Williams led EMS-Cortex to its first successful acquisition to Citrix, and since then has led a fast-growing Microsoft Partner Award-winning New Zealand MSP.

With a strong history in development, and deep knowledge of the MSP market he brings real-world depth and leads the helm in Atria.

Daniel had a long history of working for MSPs and then EMS-Cortex, he has lived both sides of the coin. Since leaving Citrix Daniel has led growth in Custom Development and Office 365 businesses. He’s lived through the MSP world and understands the scale issues from both sales and delivery within the industry.
