About Us

We help teams get more work done faster. Better.

Automate101 foundation and future direction

In 2005 Colin Williams began managing the “Cortex” development team. They had only 2 customers on opposite sides of the world (UK and NZ), no cash, disillusioned developers and a very rough product.

Over the next 5 years, he created a talented team that rebuilt both the company and product. Through hard work and much customer insight, they developed a unique and powerful platform, supported by an invigorating workplace culture, that simplifies the delivery of complex IT services to end users.

In 2011, the Cortex business assets were sold to Citrix, and the next chapter began under the CPSM name…

CPSM has been within Citrix for 7 years and over the past few years – End of Life has loomed – and the delivery of new features have been few and far between. However, despite the lack of development, CPSM is still widely used on a global scale due to its core product being solid, reliable, and somewhat unique.

Over the past 5 years Colin has been General Manager of a Managed Service Provider. This role has given a renewed and very real perspective of the challenges faced in delivering IT services and what a business needs to scale up and grow quickly.

Cortex/CPSM is home and the next chapter will begin…

There is more than ever a need for an improved CPSM, we have a lot of work and ideas to implement and are excited to have the opportunity to finish the work we started over a decade ago:

  • More features should be automated and improved
  • The many challenges associated with identity management and hybrid IT services must be overcome
  • Too many engineers waste time on repetitive tasks and this must be eliminated
  • The on-boarding of new customers must be simplified and made friction-less
  • Providers must be empowered with more self-service capability and improved responsiveness

CPSM History and Future Direction

In 2005 Colin Williams started a new job as manager of the “Cortex” development team; with 2 (unhappy) customers on opposite sides of the world (UK and NZ), negative cashflow, no cash, a broken team and a very rough product.

Over the next 5 years, he created a talented team to rebuild both the company and the product. Through a lot of learning, hard work and customer insight, they managed to create an amazing work culture and a unique and powerful platform that simplified the delivery of complex IT services to end users.
